17 Weeks Pregnant

.

Baby

Baby now weighs more than the placenta. He or she has specific sleep schedule and he or she knows how to yawn. Fat begins to form beneath the skin. That helps to keep body temperature later on. Sebaceous glands have formed and and he or she is covered with vernix. Small hair helps to keep the vernix on the skin. The hair or lanugo is normally shed before birth, around 7 or 8 months. Fetal umbilical cord becomes thicker and stronger.

You

You are sweating more. You love to be in the open air. The placenta is now producing enough hormone, estrogen, which is why you feel better again. Your uterus extends over the pubic bone, therefore, pregnancy should be clearly marked.

Ideas

  • Use lotion or cream for reducing stretch marks. Spread it over your tummy, breasts and buttocks. Stretch marks can not be avoided fully, but a healthy diet and moderate exercise can help to keep your skin more elastic.
